LATISSE®

Grow your eyelashes longer, fuller, darker!

Statistically in the UK, a woman who goes to get her eyelash extentions done on a regular basis - say, every five weeks - spends approximately 23 hours and £1,750 per year on this exercise. Add to this the eyelash deterioration and the damage that is being done to your own eyelashes by the glue during and after the eyelash extention treatment.

With LATISSE® - a new revolutionary treatment for the eyelash growth - you can save 22 hours and nearly £900 every year having your own eyelashes as long and as full as you have never even dreamed of before!

LATISSE® is a prescription treatment for inadequate or not enough eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker. It was developed through years of research by Allergan, a pharmaceutical leader with expertise in eye care products.

LATISSE® solution is an actual growth treatment. In fact, it is the only treatment clinically proven to grow lashes. And it is the only lash growth product of its kind available by prescription.

LATISSE® is a once-a-day treatment you apply topically to the base of your upper eyelashes, as instructed by your doctor. You may start to see more length in as little as 4 weeks. It’s not an illusion of growth. It’s your own eyelashes — only better!

LATISSE® makes lash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is unknown, LATISSE® is believed to affect the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: first, it increases the length of this phase, and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase.

As LATISSE® solution is prescription only, you will need to contact us to book a consultation with one of our doctors to see if LATISSE® is right for you.

Latisse FAQ's

Will Latisse help bald eyelids?
Provided that the matrix of the hair bulb is viable, Latisse would be worth trying. It is known that some chemotherapy patients who after chemotherapy lost much of their eyelashes and never had much hair growth return, when used Latisse, they noticed lash growth within one month. Speak to one of our doctors to see whether you are the right candidate to use this product....
Are the effects from Latisse permanent?
The hair on our lashes is like the hair our bodies- it grows in cycles. The longer lashes promoted by Latisse will fall out in their appropriate cycle. This is why continued use is recommended to retain the desired results. If you stop using it, at some point the longer lashes will fall out and the baseline length ones will grow in....
Will Latisse change eye colour?
It is NOT 100% KNOWN at this time if Latisse will or will not change eye color. In the FDA trial for Latisse none of the patients with blue eyes turned darker color however it was not a large number of patients. LATISSE belongs to the same family of medications called prostaglandin analogues. They have a history of changing eye color from light to dark. When patients who have glaucoma with light eyes are being started on the drop they are counseled on it. This is seen through the cumulative dosing that occurs over time. Glaucoma specialists will tell you that patient's who's eye color changed did so over a long period of time, NOT OVERNIGHT. Our doctors counsel patients and let them know this. The iris color change is more due to cumulative dose than getting one or several large doses in the eye. It is logical to assume a risk is made putting in latisse over years the same way may change iris color which is irreversable. It is a known risk and our doctors make sure that our patients are aware of it....
Can Latisse be used to enhance eyebrows as well?
Latisse is only approved for use on the upper eyelashes. However there is an empiral indication and quite a few people who also benefit from the use on the eyebrow. Before you attempt any off label usage, you should have a thorough discussion with your physician. Be careful to apply the Latisse only to the area with the brow hairs. Latisse can temporarily darken the skin so you should be careful not to get the medication on other areas of your skin....
Why can't I apply Latisse to lower lid?
Latisse is approved for use on the upper lashes, with the understanding that gravity and blinking promotes the distribution of the solution to the lower lashes. Application to the lower lashes is not recommended as there is too much risk of corneal damage/abrasion and infection that can occur during the application process (brush getting in your eyeball). Sticking to the upper lash application does help the lower lashes too - so doing it this way minimizes your risks and gives the best benefits....
How to apply?
LATISSE® solution is intended for use on the skin of the upper eyelid margins at the base of the eyelashes. • DO NOT APPLY to the lower lid. • Only use the sterile applicators supplied with LATISSE® to apply the product. • Remove contact lenses prior to applying LATISSE®. Contact lenses may be reinserted 15 minutes afterward. • Don't allow the tip of the bottle, or applicator, to touch fingers or any other unintended surface, as contamination by common bacteria is known to cause infections....
What are the potential Latisse side effects?
Latisse is a prescription medication, which if used correctly, does not often cause side effects. In some case, a side effect of eye irritation is possible. Some people experience eye irritation for the first week or two they use Latisse, and then the irritation goes away. According to Allergan, 4% of patients in their clinical trials experienced this side effect. Although not seen in the clinical studies, it may also cause increased brown iris pigmentation of the colored part of the eye which is likely to be permanent. Increased iris pigmentation has occurred when the same formulation of bimatoprost ophthalmic solution was instilled directly into the eye. Some of other potential side effects are darkening of eyelid skin (usually reversible once the drug is stopped)....
