Body Silk Aesthetic Clinic offers a range of massages you can choose from. You can also choose the length of each massage session (please refer to our Price List for more details).
Swedish
This is the most common type of massage therapy. It is also known as Swedish massage or simply massage therapy. Massage therapists use long smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on superficial layers of muscle using massage lotion or oil. Swedish massage therapy can be very gentle and relaxing. If you've never had massage before, this is a good one to try first. You can ask your therapist to focus on your problem areas, for example, specifically on your back, or just ask for a full body massage). For prices, please refer to our Price List.
Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is a branch of herbal medicine that uses the medicinal properties of the essential oils of plants and herbs. Essential oils can affect almost every organ system in the body. Each essential oil has a unique pharmacological effect, such as anti-bacterial, antiviral, diuretic, vasodilator, tranquilizing, and adrenal stimulating.
When an essential oil is inhaled, the molecules enter the nasal cavity and stimulate the limbic system in the brain. The libic system is a region that influences emotions and memories and is directly linked to the adrenals, pituitary gland, the hypothalamus, the parts of the body that regulate heart rate, blood pressure, stress, memory, hormone balance, and breathing. This makes the effects of essential oils immediate in bringing about emotional and physiological balance. For prices, please refer to our Price List.
Reflexology (foot massage)
The underlying theory behind reflexology is that there are "reflex" areas on the feet and hands that correspond to specific organs, glands, and other parts of the body. It is a very relaxing treatment, and a good way of handling stress gained from a busy life-style while working in the city. For prices, please refer to our Price List.
Deep Tissue
Deep tissue massage is used for chronic tight or painful muscles, postural problems, and repetitive strain. This type of massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue.
There is often some level of physical discomfort during the massage, as the massage therapist works on the deeper muscle layers. People usually feel sore for one to two days after the massage. For prices, please refer to our Price List.
Sports Massage
Sports massage is specifically designed for people who are involved in physical activity. But you don't have to be a professional athlete to have one-it's also used by people who are active and work out often. The focus isn't on relaxation but on preventing and treating injury and enhancing athletic performance. A combination of techniques are used. The strokes are generally faster than Swedish massage. Stretching is a common technique. It helps to loosen muscles and increase flexibility.
Alternatively, for sports people, Body Silk Clinic also offers a special Endermologie technology, which has a specially designed program to prepare people for marathons and other sports competitions. Please, allow at least 7 days before the competition date.
Indian (head, neck and shoulders)
Indian Head Massage - also known as Champissage is based on the ancient Indian Ayurvedic healing system. It has been practiced in India for over a thousand years. 'Champi' is an original Indian word meaning head massage and champissage is the modern Indian name for the Ayurvedic method of head massage. Traditionally used by Indian women to keep their hair thick and scalp healthy, stimulating the circulation to the scalp and nourishing the hair roots. Originally, the technique only included the head. Today, however, it includes massage of the shoulders, upper arms, neck, face and ears.
It relaxes the layer of muscle covering the head, improving blood flow, nourishing the scalp and alleviating stress and anxiety. Along with increased blood circulation, it also stimulates the movement of lymph, thus having a cleansing effect. Champissage is also used to treat eye strain, headaches, insomnia, lack of concentration and lethargy. Typically, Ayurvedic oils are massaged into the scalp; however, this procedure can also be done without any oils or creams. For prices, please refer to our Price List.
